The third, fourth & fifth house

The Imum Coeli (4th house)

The 4th house is the deepest point as shown in the image and called as “Imum Coeli (Latin for “Bottom of the sky”)” or, “I.C”.

This is the house that present below the ground and it can be considered as mid-night sky or, the time when sun is over the head on the other hemi-sphere.

This clearly implies that this house is truly related to our inner feelings, private things and things that are related to our own emotions.

As it related to private things and things that are unseen so, this house represents our ‘heart’ & ‘soul’.

Feelings, happiness, emotions, sense of comfort etc. are all related to our inner feelings only and thus, also represented by the 4th house.

The one in our family who takes care of our emotions and inner feelings is our “Mother”. So, 4th house also represents “Mother”.

Again; our house, vehicles, savings, treasure etc. are all private things and hence also represented by the 4th house.

The 3rd house

Then, comes the 3rd house which is in the below section of the sky but, in the eastern side. So, it is present in between the 1st & 4th house and relates the properties of 4th house with the 1st house.

4th house is inner feelings & emotions and 1st house is “self”, “Beginning or, birth”, “coming into existence” or, becoming visible because the sun rises from the east or, 1st house.

Therefore, 3rd house represents “Ambitions”, “Courage”, “Bravery” and “Will-power” because all such things are very much essential to put our inner desires in front of the outer world.

Moreover, 3rd house is also the “ability to communicate” & “Communication” as well because this is the only way in which we express our inner feelings and here, communication can be both verbal and non-verbal.

The 5th house

Now, we have 5th house on the other side of the 4th house, which is also in the below section of the sky but, in the western side. So, it is present in between the 4th & the 7th house and relates the properties of 4th house with the 7th house.

7th house is the house where the sun sets and things became invisible or, intangible and it is the house that signifies other people whereas, 4th house is the house of our inner feelings and emotions.

Therefore, 5th house acts like a bridge and represents “Education”, “Intelligence” and “Creativity” because; these are the things by which other people knows our quality that we have within ourselves and all such things like intelligence, creativity are intangible too.

5th house is also the house of “Children” and “Students” because “Children” are also created and hence a part of creativity and “Students” are those who get the education.

HOUSES IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY (PART-3)

In the last 2 parts of our discussion on the houses, we get to know many things about houses like, various house systems in astrology, the correct house system to follow etc. In this post, we will discuss about different categorization of the 12 houses along with the basic meaning of each house. If you haven’t read the first and second part of this discussion then I recommend you to read them first for better understanding of this topic. Read here -:  Part-1  ,  Part-2 Houses as “Bhavas” In Vedic astrology, a house is called as “Bhava”. The word “Bhava” means “Thoughts” and it is very obvious to name the houses as “Bhava” because each house possesses some kind of “Thought” in it and they represent certain things. Like the Rashis (Zodiac signs) and Grahas (Planets), they also represent certain things and thus each house (Bhava) has a special name associated with it that conveys its inner thought or, the related things that it represents. HOUSES IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY (PART-1)

Introduction In n astrological chart, houses act like the containers for the planets and zodiac signs. Therefore, the houses are as important as the planets and zodiac signs and form the base of any prediction. In Vedic astrology; just like the zodiac signs (Rashis), each house has a span of 30° and there are 12 houses in total. The ascendant or, rising sign (The zodiac sign that rises from the eastern horizon at the time of birth) plays a vital role in case of determining houses and their span. For example -: If at the time of birth of the native, the zodiac sign “Cancer” is present in the eastern horizon at 7°00’ then, it is become the mid-point of the 1 st house and native is said to have “Cancer” ascendant. In this way, the sign “Leo” takes the mid-point of 2 nd house, “Virgo” takes the mid-point of 3 rd house and so on as shown in the below table (fig-1) -: fig-1 : Houses for Cancer ascendant people Similarly, for “Virgo” ascendant peopl

HOUSES IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY (PART-2)

In our last part of this topic, we discussed about some preliminary concepts on the houses and different house systems that are used in astrology by different astrologer. Today let’s continue our discussion further. If you haven’t read the first part of this discussion then I recommend you to read that first for better understanding of this topic. Read here -:  Part-1 The Perfect House System After an introduction to so many house systems, an obvious question arises in our mind, i.e., "Which is the most correct house system to use?" Well, the answer for this question is hidden in the experiences of Vedic astrologers regarding various house systems. First of all, among the two broad categories of house systems, most of the Vedic astrologers usually prefer the “Linear house systems” because of some limitations present in the “Non-linear house systems”, such as, They are only extensible to house from ascendant (Lagna) and not fro
